Meaning and background
The story behind Berklee
Berklee carries a specific institutional and musical association. The college’s own history explains that Lawrence Berk renamed his school after his son, Lee Eliot Berk, following its beginnings as Schillinger House. That documented naming story is more useful than treating Berklee as an automatic alternate spelling of Berkeley. For a dog named after musical studies or a connection with the college, the distinctive double e preserves the intended reference.
