Meaning and background
The story behind Cassandra
Cassandra comes from Greek mythology, where a Trojan princess was gifted prophecy but cursed so that her warnings would not be believed. Scholars have proposed more than one derivation for the Greek name, and none should be silently presented as settled. For a dog, the full three-syllable classical feel contrasts neatly with the familiar shorter form Cass.
