Meaning and background
The story behind Cheeto
Cheeto is often heard as the singular of Cheetos, the brand of cheese-flavoured corn snacks. That usage is recorded in dictionaries, although the history of the precise invented brand spelling is less secure than the existence of the product itself. It makes an unmistakably light-hearted food name for a dog. The similar sound of cheetah is an association, but it would be unsafe to declare Cheeto an established zoological word meaning little cheetah.
