Meaning and background
The story behind Crissy
Crissy has a San Francisco place connection through Crissy Field, named in honour of Major Dana Crissy. The National Park Service traces the site’s role in early military aviation, including its use as a Pacific-coast air defence station. Its historical account also describes the 1924 round-the-world flight stopping there. A dog named after the field can carry a local walking memory alongside that aviation history. This is a documented surname and place-name route, separate from any personal use of Crissy as a nickname.
