Meaning and background

The story behind Denahi

Denahi is one of the brothers in Disney’s Brother Bear, voiced by Jason Raize. The studio’s reference account explains that he pursues the bear Kenai has become because he believes it killed his brother. That misunderstanding is part of the 2003 animated film’s family story. A dog named Denahi can therefore recall a particular character and film. This fictional association is documented independently of any proposed Indigenous-language translation; the consulted Disney material does not supply such an etymology.
