Meaning and background
The story behind Fibi
Fibi is the girl’s name in the German edition of Dana Simpson’s Phoebe and Her Unicorn. Ullmann Medien publishes the comic as Fibi und ihr Einhorn and names her unicorn friend Maiglöckchen. Their unusual friendship gives the compact spelling a particular literary setting, involving both fantasy and everyday problems. A family enjoying those German books might choose Fibi for that reason. The documented character adaptation does not by itself establish a traditional German given-name origin.
