Meaning and background
The story behind Kujo
Kujo has an exact-spelling fictional namesake in Jotaro Kujo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Bandai Namco’s announcement for All-Star Battle R includes the Part 4 version of Jotaro and separately names Jolyne Cujoh, preserving the different written forms used in its character roster. A fan can choose Kujo as a surname-based tribute to Jotaro. It should not automatically inherit the story or associations of Stephen King’s differently spelled Cujo. The game publisher’s record establishes character use without verifying a universal Japanese surname translation.
