Meaning and background
The story behind Lexis
Lexis is an English linguistic term for the vocabulary of a language, distinguished from its grammar and sound system. It comes through Greek lexis, “word” or “speech”. This is a documented word meaning, not proof that Lexis has a particular historical origin as a personal name. It also resembles the names of information and automotive brands, which are separate modern naming choices.
