Meaning and background
The story behind Lindo
Lindo is a Spanish and Portuguese nickname surname from a word meaning lovely. A separate Norwegian Lindø history identifies people from farmsteads named Lindøy, using words for lime tree and island. The affectionate Iberian sense is therefore documented, but it does not cover every family-name route. The small diacritic difference also matters: preserving the Norwegian original helps explain why a landscape interpretation accompanies the same plain-letter spelling.
