Meaning and background
The story behind Osito
Osito comes directly from everyday Spanish, where *oso* is a bear and the ending *-ito* makes an affectionate diminutive. It is therefore easy to understand as 'little bear', a particularly transparent animal-themed nickname. The word should not be confused with Osita, which is also an independently documented Igbo given name with a different history.
