Meaning and background
The story behind Saatchi
Saatchi is a surname with a documented occupational explanation through Ottoman Turkish saatçi, “watchmaker”. As a modern dog name it is also visually recognisable as a family name, but a surname etymology cannot tell us who or what inspired any particular naming choice. Its historical association is with clocks and watches, not with a character trait. The spelling is preserved exactly without assigning a new English translation to the family itself.
