Meaning and background
The story behind Stimpy
Stimpy is the nickname of Stimpson J. Cat in The Ren & Stimpy Show. Paramount’s programme account distinguishes him from Ren, the Chihuahua, and its opening-episode description follows Stimpy to Hollywood before he decides to return to his friend. That supplies an animated-cat namesake with a particular friendship story. A dog called Stimpy may honour the series despite the character being feline. The nickname’s documented expansion is specific to the show; it does not establish every Stimpy as a traditional personal name.
