Meaning and background
The story behind Tala
Tala has distinct fictional associations in two Disney franchises. Star Wars identifies Tala Durith as someone working within the Empire while secretly helping resistance fighters. Disney's Moana press materials also use Tala for Moana's grandmother. Either character can provide a specific inspiration for a dog name, depending on the owner's interests. These sources document uses of the spelling; they do not collapse the different language meanings sometimes claimed for Tala into one personal-name origin.
