Meaning and background
The story behind Toothless
Toothless literally means having no teeth and can also be used figuratively for something ineffective. It is especially recognisable as the name of Hiccup’s dragon in How to Train Your Dragon, as described by DreamWorks itself. The affectionate fictional association differs from the ordinary adjective and does not imply that a dog has a dental problem.
