The story behind Virgo
Virgo has both an astronomical and an astrological reference. Merriam-Webster describes the constellation on the celestial equator, traditionally pictured as a woman holding grain, and separately identifies the sixth sign of the zodiac. A dog name can draw on either association. These dictionary senses do not establish a personal-name origin or justify attributing the personality traits of an astrological description to the animal.
