The story behind Zazu
Zazu is Mufasa’s hornbill adviser in The Lion King. Disney’s character description presents him as formal and easily flustered but dedicated to the pride through difficult as well as happy times. That gives the name a specific bird-and-film association, with a comic contrast between dignity and exasperation. A dog owner may choose it for a favourite character or remembered family viewing.
