Meaning and background
The story behind Beary
Beary Barrington is the young fan at the centre of Disney’s 2002 film The Country Bears. In the studio’s account, he tries to reunite the band for a benefit concert that will save Country Bear Hall. The film draws on the Country Bear attraction at Walt Disney World, and Haley Joel Osment supplies Beary’s voice. A dog named Beary can therefore carry a specific family-film or theme-park memory, with this spelling identifying the character rather than merely suggesting a bear-like appearance.
