Meaning and background
The story behind Praise
Praise is the English word for approval, commendation or an expression of grateful honour, including religious worship. It came through Old French from a Latin root concerned with worth or value. As a personal or dog name it therefore has a positive dictionary sense, but that is not proof of any individual owner's religious intention. The single syllable is clear when called and does not need a fanciful derivation from an ancient personal name.
