Meaning and background
The story behind Tsuki
Tsuki has a documented moon association in Japanese cultural material. MIT's Japanese culture notes explicitly pair the song title Tsuki with “moon” while discussing autumn moon viewing, called O-tsukimi, and offerings such as dumplings, seasonal fruit and grasses. This connects the spelling with a particular word and cultural setting. It remains an association for a dog name, rather than evidence that every personal use of Tsuki has one fixed kanji spelling or origin.
